Sam & Lauren
Photographing weddings is pretty special, but when it happens to be a couple you’ve known since they got together in high school it’s even more rewarding, so I was so chuffed when Lauren contacted me and asked me to be their wedding photographer!
Like me, they’ve both made their home in Huddersfield after uni, so much so that they decided to get married on this side of the hill at The Woodman Inn in Thunderbridge.
Unfortunately for them (but mainly me) Winston, their French Bull Dog, couldn’t make it on the day but Lauren made sure he was there in spirit with a cute framed photo on display during bride prep.
Hair and Makeup for the girls took place in the Richmond Suite at the inn with enough bacon butties and hash browns to fuel a small army. Meanwhile, Sam was at home with the boys getting ready and chillin’ out in the morning sun.
Their intimate ceremony took place at 1pm and was perfect; honest and full of love (as you can see by the way Sam was looking at his new wife!)
By the time they were pronounced husband and wife the sun was cracking the flags, so everyone took full advantage and wandered down to the Thunderbridge Garden, because what’s better than a cold one in the sunshine surrounded by trees and a little babbling brook?
Once everyone had had their fill of Vitamin D for the year, they made their way back over to the inn to sit down to a three course meal.
Speeches were short, sweet and full of thanks for those celebrating with them, especially as some guests had flown in from France for the occasion.
After the wedding breakfast, everyone dived straight in to enjoy all the treats on the table which included sweet jars, a wall of donuts and the three-tiered actual cheese-cake(!!!)
Later, once their evening guests had arrived, Sam and Lauren took to the floor for their first dance. From then on the party was in full swing with everyone busting moves on the dance floor like there was no tomorrow.
Throughout the day everyone was so laid back, relaxed and friendly that it just made photographing even more enjoyable, so a huge thank you to Sam and Lauren for allowing me to be a part of your day and I hope you enjoy looking back on it for all the years to come!
