The Perfect Country Pub Wedding Venue
The Woodman Inn is a quaint little pub and wedding venue in the peaceful Thunder Bridge area of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
The Woodman Inn offers two different spaces for your wedding, the Garden Room which holds up to 150 guests, and the Country Room which is suitable for more intimate celebrations of up to 60 guests.
Both picturesque settings are cosy and welcoming, perfect for relaxed wedding photographs.

The Woodman Inn Accommodation
The Woodman Inn has several cottages next door and across the road that provide accommodation for you and your friends and family, including the honeymoon suite which will be yours for the evening of your wedding.
This means you can have your whole day at one venue which is a great way to reduce the stress of the day.
The Richmond Suite is where you can get ready on your wedding day. This bride got ready here and had a surprise scrapbook given to her by her bridesmaids on the morning of her wedding. Her reactions were so lovely to photograph!
From this suite, it’s just a short walk to the ceremony so you don’t need to worry about transport as part of your wedding plans.
Wedding Photography in the Garden Room
The Garden Room is the large glass marquee at The Woodman Inn where ceremonies and wedding receptions take place.
The marquee is a large open space with lots of natural light available. As a wedding photographer, this room is very flattering for photographs as the white drapes help to soften and diffuse the light. This comes in especially handy on a very sunny day when the light is harsh.
The Garden room is a blank canvas with its neutral decor so you can style your wedding however you’d like!
At the far end, the dance floor is already in place which means the turnaround from ceremony to reception is a lot quicker. This area of the marquee also comes in handy for group photos when the weather is bad.
In the evening, the Woodman Inn turns into a fun party venue with lots of space for family and friends to gather as you take to the dancefloor for your first dance.
Wedding Ceremonies in The Woodman Inn Restaurant
Upstairs in the cosy pub is the Country Room, which is a great choice for more intimate celebrations. It has all the charm of a country pub but with more modern styling that suits all kinds of wedding decor.
The Country Room is currently undergoing a makeover as part of a full pub refurb in January 2025!
Drinks in the Orangery
No matter where you choose to have your ceremony, you’ll have access to the orangery bar for you and your guests to enjoy your drinks reception in private.
Thunderbridge Garden Wedding Portraits
The tall trees in the gardens at The Woodman Inn provide the perfect backdrop for natural wedding couple photos and family group photographs like these.
If the weather is good, you can also choose to have your ceremony outside in this area. I’d love to photograph an outdoor ceremony at The Woodman Inn one day!
