The Best Colourful Wedding Photography of 2025
It’s that time of year again! Another whirlwind wedding season, and now it’s time to sit back and reflect on 2025 and all the amazing moments that have come out of it.
As is tradition, I’ve gone through over 10,000 wedding photos delivered to my couples this year and narrowed down my selection to just 100 images that I feel best represent my work as a colourful wedding photographer in 2025.

My aim as a wedding photographer is to capture vibrant, joyful, authentic moments that celebrate the fun and chaos of your wedding day. In 2025, I was able to achieve this over and over again for some incredible couples, whose days were full of life, laughter and love. I’m incredibly lucky to be a part of this industry and to make a living from photographs full of colour and joy.
I’d love to share some of my highlights from the year first, but if you like, you can always skip to the photos!
‘This is Reportage’ Top 10 Photographer and Storyteller of the Year for 2025
A real pinch-me moment. I’ve been entering my photos into every ‘This is Reportage’ round since 2022. I still remember the moment I found out I’d won my first award. I was absolutely over the moon, and that win only gave me the drive and determination to keep entering.
In 2025, I was once again named in the Top 100 Photographers of the Year 2025 list. This list is worldwide, but there is also a list for UK photographers.
My final rankings were:
Best Photographers in the World – 4th Place
Best Photographers in the UK – 2nd Place
Best Storytellers in the World – 2nd Place

The best Documentary Wedding Photographers
TiR represents the best of the best in documentary wedding photography, so I’ve made it my mission to improve my rankings year on year. Although this may be the goal, it’s more important for me to be as consistent as possible in my efforts and provide the best possible experience for my couples.
I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved so far with This is Reportage, having appeared on the Top 100 list for 3 years running.

Colourful Wedding Photography that tells a story
One of my core values is storytelling: Capturing the narrative and the in-between moments at weddings. What I love about This is Reportage is that it not only celebrates individual award-winning images but stories too.
Story awards are for a series of 15-20 images from a single wedding, celebrating creative storytelling. Curating these stories has helped me improve my own work and think about new and interesting ways to tell the story of a wedding day.

In 2025, I received 7 story awards for weddings I’ve photographed. You can see my award-winning images in full on my profile below.

TWIA Regional Highly Commended Photographer
In 2025, I entered The Wedding Industry Awards for the first time and was awarded Highly Commended by the judges after attending the Yorkshire & North East Regional awards evening!

The photographer category was super tough, and it was definitely daunting to be up against 22 other photographers, especially as that included some of the most talented people I know, and ones I’m proud to call friends.
I was chosen as a regional finalist as a result of the feedback my couples gave about my service as their wedding photographer. Without this feedback, I wouldn’t have made it to the regional event to be in with a chance of winning. I’m so grateful to all the couples who supported me by voting, and I’m very pleased to be a runner-up in my first time entering these awards.
My TWIA entry consisted of 10 of my favourite images, a series of questions and answers for the judges to take into account, as well as a short video about my love of wedding photography that you can see below.
International Wedding Photographer of the Year Finalist
In 2025, I submitted 3 of my images into the International Wedding Photographer of the Year ‘Break The Rules’ category, and I’m incredibly proud that two of them were chosen as finalists!

“This category is for those images created that don’t follow any photography rule book, for images that stretch our perception of what a wedding photograph should be.” – International Wedding Photographer of the Year
This is really important for me as I love to be creative in my approach to wedding photography. I love to capture the chaos and the unexpected and produce unique images, so I’m really happy that these two were chosen and recognised.

Ninedots Loxley Print Competition Winner
Ninedots is always a huge highlight of the year for me. A hundred or so photographers gathered together in one place for 3 days of learning, growing, meeting new people and partying with friends!
Every year, 20 images are selected as finalists for the Loxley Colour Print Competition. These are then judged, and the top 3 are awarded.
This year, I’m pleased to share that the image below from Charlie & Max’s wedding at The Faversham in May won the judges’ vote and came in 1st place!

A huge thanks to the judges: Maciej Suwalowski, Fer Juaristi and Amy Sampson
Me?! A Speaker at a Wedding Photography Conference?!
Now here’s something I never thought I’d do.
Back in February, I was invited to speak at a one-day workshop called Motion.
Hosted by Ninedots, this was all about hybrid photography and behind the scenes. I delivered a talk to around 200 wedding photographers about different ways to utilise behind-the-scenes content in their photography businesses.

This was a huge step out of my comfort zone, having never ventured into the world of education before, so I’m so proud of myself for first saying yes when asked, and second, getting through it and receiving some lovely feedback from other photographers. Just knowing that there was even one small takeaway for someone was more than enough of a win for me.

A Huge Milestone – 200 Colourful Weddings Photographed!
I did a little digging… and it seems I’ve now photographed 200 weddings!
That’s a lot of people and a lot of photos! It’s been a wild ride so far, so I thought I’d share some things I’ve learned along the way.
Photographing 200 weddings has taught me…
- …that the experience I provide for my couples is just as important as the photos. But don’t take it from me, check out my Google Reviews!
- …that there are no do’s or don’ts. Only what works for the couple. Throw tradition out of the window, or embrace it. Whatever you decide to do on the day, I’ll be there to capture you for who you are.
- …that each day is completely unique because of the people who are present. I love being able to capture different personalities.
- …to let go of my own expectations and embrace the chaos and the unexpected. That often leads to the most unique and interesting wedding photographs!
- …to embrace my own style, knowing that the couples who book me will love me for it.
