5 of The Best Woodland Wedding Venues in Yorkshire

During my time photographing weddings in the Yorkshire area, I’ve stumbled upon many stunning woodland wedding venues.
With my colourful, natural style of wedding photography, it’s no wonder that I’m drawn to wedding venues with lots of greenery. So I’ve put together a list of some of my favourite woodland wedding venues in the Yorkshire area.
Woodland Wedding Venues for Nature Lovers
We have so many beautiful woodland areas in Yorkshire and there are plenty of woodland venues each with a slightly different looks and feel. So if you fancy an outdoor wedding that’s full of nature and colour you should definitely check out these stunning venues!
Townend Farm, North Cliffe
Townend Farm and Tipis is an incredible blank canvas wedding venue in the East Yorkshire countryside. The farm offers a woodland area for your ceremony and a large open lawn area for your tipi and accommodation.
This is a family-owned venue and though it’s no longer a working farm, there is still no shortage of animals. You may even have an extra guest for your wedding as Turkey Man, the resident turkey, loves to make an appearance and heckle your guests.
Townend Farm also offers on-site accommodation with their 2-bedroom cottage, but there’s also plenty of room for camping.
Camp Katur, Bedale, North Yorkshire
Camp Katur is a stunning outdoor woodland venue in Bedale, North Yorkshire.
A long winding pathway guides you through the trees at Camp Katur to a clearing in the woodland where log benches sit on either side of a natural aisle. The trees in the ceremony area provide the perfect amount of shade from the sun so the lighting for wedding photography is really flattering.
Outside of the woodland area, there’s a large field surrounded by trees and huts for guest accommodation. This is the perfect central spot for a wedding reception tipi.

Stillington Mill, York, North Yorkshire
Stillington Mill is a unique family-run wedding venue in the little village of Stillington, North Yorkshire.
This wedding venue near York has so much to offer for couples who are looking for a relaxed outdoor woodland wedding. The woodland glade is perfect for your outdoor ceremony.
Stillington Mill is a family home and venue that offers space for weddings and other creative events in the summer months.
Also known as ‘At The Mill’ you’ll find a cute cafe bar area under cover. Elsewhere in the venue, there’s plenty of space for a hired marquee for your wedding reception.

Hazlewood Castle, York/Leeds
Hazlewood Castle Hotel & Spa is a stunning wedding venue in Yorkshire.
If you’re looking for a relaxed wedding day with a stunning backdrop and the benefits of an onsite hotel and spa, the enchanted woodland at Hazlewood Castle is the perfect option.
Your woodland wedding ceremony will take place under the wedding pagoda as shown above. Afterwards, your guests will enjoy drinks from the bar nestled under the tree canopy followed by a wedding breakfast in a large tipi.

Cockley Wood Weddings, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Cockley Wood Weddings is a gorgeous lesser-known woodland wedding venue between Huddersfield and Wakefield.
The venue is family-run and offers its own handmade furniture and a double tipi with fairy lights and an on-site bar. On an evening, they have a fire pit where you can toast marshmallows all you like or spend the night dancing in the tipi.
The ceremony and drinks reception area are also covered by a large canopy in case of bad weather.
Surrounded by nature, Cockley Wood is the perfect place to celebrate your big day with friends and family.
