Wedding Photos at The Faversham in Leeds

In this blog, you’ll find some of my favourite wedding photos at The Faversham!

Just a short distance away from the city centre, The Faversham in Leeds is a cool independent wedding and event venue with its own unique look and feel.

The Faversham has the best of both worlds for wedding photography, a light, bright conservatory full of natural light and a cool bar area perfect for a fun evening party.

Why Choose The Faversham for Your Wedding

If you’re looking for a wedding venue with great transport links for your guests, then The Faversham is a great choice as it’s just outside of Leeds City Centre. It has its own private car park and is roughly a 20-minute walk from the railway station or less than a 10-minute drive. This is especially helpful if you’re getting ready for your wedding day in a city centre hotel.

The Faversham is the perfect setting for whatever kind of wedding you’re planning. It’s a beautiful space with a real mix of character and modern features and this means there’s plenty of backdrops for photos which wedding photographers like me love!

Stunning Wedding Ceremony in the Conservatory

The Conservatory at The Faversham is one of my favourite ceremony spaces to photograph. The original glass roof lets in so much light, which is really flattering for wedding photos.

The Victorian tiles are such a stunning feature too and the hanging foliage from the ceiling means that even if you choose not to decorate the room too much, your wedding photos will still look beautiful.

If you’re having a smaller wedding, you can choose to have your reception and meal in the conservatory too. It has its own bar and direct access to the outside terrace for your drinks reception.

This room seats 85 people for a wedding ceremony and 60 for a wedding breakfast.

The Main Entrance

Outside the main entrance at The Faversham, there’s plenty of open space for guests to line up for a confetti throw before heading over to the terrace for drinks.

This is one of my favourite confetti pictures from 2025! Check out this blog post if you want tips on how to get the best confetti photographs at your wedding.

The front of the building is the ideal spot to capture group photos away from the rest of the wedding party when they’re at the bar. There’s also a small grassy area next to the car park, which can be used for wedding portraits and on a sunny day like this one, the light makes the photos really pop.

The Faversham’s Outdoor Terrace

The outside terrace can accommodate up to 150 guests as long as the British weather plays ball. This is a great area for your wedding guests to hang out and have fun after the ceremony. I always enjoy photographing this part of a summer wedding as everyone relaxes and you often have games being played and children running around, which gives me lots to capture!

It’s really important for me as a wedding photographer to capture friends and family interacting with each other and having a good time together.

One of my favourite and most awarded photos from 2025 was taken on The Faversham terrace and it says everything you need to know about looking after kids whilst trying to enjoy the wedding!

Wedding Speeches in The Main Room

The Main Room at The Faversham in Leeds is an eclectic mix of modern furniture and industrial features such as exposed brick and restored timber flooring. This area has much more of a party vibe.

If you’re planning a wedding at The Faversham, then this room can hold 300 people standing and 120 can be seated for dinner.

This wedding had one of my favourite colour schemes for their table decor and I loved photographing those details for the couple, especially with The Faversham’s beautiful feature windows as a backdrop.

During these wedding speeches, the bride and groom sat with their backs to the light, so in order to get the best wedding photos possible for them, I used off-camera lighting as this helps to fill in the shadows and make the colours in the photos really pop.

Golden Hour Car Park Portraits at The Faversham Wedding

If there’s one thing I love being able to capture on a wedding day, it’s beautiful couple portraits at golden hour. This is much harder to come by at a Leeds city centre venue like the Faversham, but not impossible if your wedding photographer likes to plan ahead!

Around the side of the venue in the car park, just next to the bins, is the perfect spot to capture some romantic evening portraits!

One of the skills you should always look for in a wedding photographer is the ability to create something epic and beautiful, no matter what the scenario or backdrop. If you’re lucky enough to have a sunny evening, it gives you another opportunity for a 5-minute couple photo session before the party and the payoff is huge! I always encourage my couples to spend the majority of the day with their favourite people and so being able to capture photos like this in a short space of time is something I pride myself on.

The Faversham is Great for Epic Party Photos

One thing I love about Faversham weddings is that they really come alive at night! I always have a great time photographing the evening reception at a wedding, especially when an awesome live band is involved.

Guests on the dancefloor at The Faversham

At this wedding, I loved capturing everyone celebrating as the couple shared their first dance. I always stay later into the night, because as a photographer I want the wedding galleries I deliver to have photos of their favourite people chugging drinks and busting moves on the dance floor. Leaving just after the first dance would mean missing all those unique moments and amazing memories.
